India’s Muslim population is the world’s third largest and the world’s largest Muslim-minority population. Officially, India has the third largest Muslim population next to Indonesia and Pakistan. India is home to 10% of the world’s Muslim population. India has around 172 million Muslims as per 2011 Census of India and data available below is also based on the 2011 Census of India. There might be some mistake in data provided here but I assure you that I have tried my best in mentioning the data correctly. There are 7 union territories which have been included in this list. Here is a list of Indian states, cities and districts by Muslim population.
