It is a historical reality, perhaps surprising to many, that Hindu<\/span>s <\/span>have consistently authored critiques of Islam for over two centuries, with a significant surge in anti-Islamic literature during the 19th century. This trend resurfaced aggressively in the 1980s and has now permeated the digital landscape, where websites and social media are leveraged to denigrate the faith. <\/span>In the past, the lack of a strong and organised Muslim intellectual response may have unintentionally encouraged such attitudes. This website therefore aims to challenge and counter these Islamophobic narratives in a direct and reasoned way. Over time, many within the Hindu community have become so used to criticising Islam that they often make derogatory remarks without <\/span>any hesitation<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Empirical data underscores the scale of this issue<\/span>,<\/span> studies<\/span><\/a> indicate that over 50% of global Islamophobic content originates from India. <\/span>According to a <\/span>study by the MIT and IIT researchers<\/span><\/a>, One is three <\/span>Whatsapp<\/span> posts in India stokes hate and fear of Muslims.<\/span> According to\u00a0<\/span>Lokniti<\/span>-CSDS post poll survey<\/span><\/a>, \u201cCompared to other communities, a slightly larger number of Hindus said that people should have the right to promote violence against other communities, while Muslims were most likely to say that people shouldn\u2019t have such a right. A similar pattern can be seen on the question whether people should have the right to ridicule other communities. Muslims and Sikhs were the most likely to oppose such a right while Hindus and others were more likely to support it, compared to other communities<\/span>.\u201d <\/span>Statistics<\/span><\/a> further reveal that 50% of police personnel believe Muslims are inherently prone to criminality, a demographic largely comprised of Hindu officers. This level of prejudice is not spontaneous; it is the culmination of consistent ideological conditioning from childhood. Regardless of their professional prestige, many remain tethered to a rigid Hindutva mentality. The electoral success of individuals who incite hatred or participate in anti-Muslim violence further illustrates the extent of this communal radicalization.<\/span><\/p>\n

A critical issue among Indian Muslims is their tendency to overlook systemic humiliation and persecution, often citing a few tolerant individuals as representative of the entire community. Conversely, Hindu narratives frequently weaponize the actions of a few fringe Muslims to demonize the collective. This deep-seated animosity appears across all societal strata, from former <\/span>DGPs<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>army<\/span><\/a> officers to High Court <\/span>judges<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>lawyers<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>doctors<\/span><\/a>, journalists, and politicians<\/span>. <\/span>It is also evident among most Hindu religious leaders, many of whom regularly deliver openly Islamophobic speeches.<\/span><\/p>\n

Today, this radicalization is so pervasive that external instigation is often unnecessary. This was particularly evident during the Coronavirus pandemic<\/span>,<\/span> while the global community focused on a health crisis, <\/span>Hindus<\/span> communalized<\/span><\/a> the virus, scapegoating Muslims for its spread. This resulted in a series of targeted attacks and economic boycotts. Notably, such scrutiny was absent when 743 staff members at the popular temple <\/span>Tirupati<\/span><\/a> tested positive following gatherings held during the lockdown. The bias persisted in unrelated incidents, such as the death of a <\/span>pregnant<\/span><\/a> elephant in Kerala or the lynching of two Sadhus by Adivasis in Maharashtra. In the latter case, despite widespread child-kidnapping <\/span>rumors<\/span> leading to the tragedy, a state <\/span>minister<\/span><\/a> of Maharashtra <\/span>was forced to publicly clarify that no Muslims were involved to prevent further communal escalation.<\/span><\/p>\n
